Glee Season 5 Spoilers: More “Adult” Themes — And Trouble for Klaine!

Glee is going to be quite different in the second half of Season 5, and we're not just talking about the new location. As the show gears up to focus entirely on the NYC storylines, we're learning that the show is also going to have a more grown-up feel.

Darren Criss (Blaine) tells Entertainment Weekly that, even though Blaine will be moving in with Kurt, things won't be going completely smoothly for the couple. Insert us pouting here.

"When you move in with somebody in any relationship, it’s going to be a challenge," Darren reveals. "I think they are going to face some challenges together and see if they can get through them or not."

That said, it does sound like there will be plenty for Klaine fans to look forward to. "There are some cool, very adult themes that are exciting to explore," he continues. "Fans that have gotten older while watching the show can relate."

So it's exciting that the show is going to take a crack at some different types of plot developments. However, we're worried that "adult themes" might be a codeword for "depressing." Will Kurt and Blaine be learning the hard way that it's not realistic to get engaged while someone's in high school?

And Glee producer Brad Falchuk adds that some of the characters are in for a rude awakening. "How does that feel to suddenly be nobody from being the biggest hero?" Brad teases. So does this mean that perhaps Artie (Kevin McHale), Sam (Chord Overstreet), and Blaine won't be getting their careers off to flying starts in NYC? Chins up, boys!

Are you excited about these changes?
