Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Spoilers: Aria and Ezra Are “Soulmates”

The Season 4 finale of Pretty Little Liars was full of feels, especially if you are an Ezria fan. Aria’s (Lucy Hale) reaction to Ezra’s (Ian Harding) getting shot was heart-wrenching, and certainly clarifies just how much these two characters still mean to one another. Pretty Little Liars executive producer Marlene King spoke to The Hollywood Reporter on the Ezria subject, and it sounds like Ezria fans have nothing to worry about.

Was Ezra’s sacrifice to protect the Liars the first step in his redemption? “It feels like fans are taking it as such,” Marlene said. “For me, I watched it again last night with Lucy and Ian, the actors, and they said, ‘God, I forgot how emotional the scene was.’ You really realized that — not thinking, just doing — going with her feelings, Aria is completely, totally still in love with this man.” Sounds pretty promising for any Ezria fans waiting in the wings (or, you know, the Internet equivalent: Tumblr). As does this proclamation of Aria and Ezra’s relationship.

“These two are like magnets who attract each other for hopefully the run of the show because I think they are soulmates,” Marlene said of the roller coaster couple. We’ve heard again and again that these two are endgame, but with everything that’s gone down in the last half-season, it doesn’t hurt to hear it again. We still think Ezra has a long way to go before earning Aria’s forgiveness and trust again, but this was definitely a good first step. Now, if he can give a little more context to the fact that he made out with Aria in a bar bathroom when he knew she was still in high school.
