Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: Enzo Is Back!

Enzo (Michael Malarkey) made a break for it in last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries — and we don’t blame him! Damon was about to bite his head off. Literally. Thankfully, we will see the European, rugby-loving vamp again.

“Always up in our grill. #nightshoot @ninadobrev @iansomerhalder @paulwesley,” Michael captioned a photo of the TVD production team he tweeted just yesterday. That means that — not only will Enzo be back — but he’ll make it well into the season. By our calculations, TVD is in the process of filming Season 5, Episode 19. Not bad for a traumatized vampire who recently escaped from a half-century in a cell.

Another interesting aspect of Michael’s tweet is who he’s with: Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley. This means he will have a scene with Elena, Damon, and Stefan. What are these three up to? Are they all friends now? Doubtful. Perhaps, this has something to do with the Travelers, who will soon be making their presence more keenly felt as the show’s next big bads. Are they joining forces in order to take out both the Travelers and Dr. Wes, who recently allied himself with the nomadic witch clan? Enzo hates Dr. Wes, as he tortured Enzo in the name of science. Might these unholy alliance be the thing that brings Enzo back together with Stefan, Elena, and Damon?

On another note, we continue to be impressed with the way Michael has integrated himself into the TVD family. Though he has only been on the cast for a relatively short time, he seems to fit right in! He even hung out with former TVDer and current The Originals cast member Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley). And no word on who won the arm-wrestling contest between Michael and Candice Accola (Caroline), but it happened, and that’s enough for us.

Are you happy to hear Enzo will be back? What do you think he is doing with Elena, Stefan, and Damon? Sound off in the comments below!

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
