Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Spoilers: Mr. DiLaurentis to Return to Rosewood

In the final scene of the Pretty Little Liars Season 4 finale, we saw “A” burying Mrs. DiLaurentis. So, what is this we hear of Ali’s mom playing an integral role in Season 5? Read on to find out!

Marlene King told TV Line that Mrs. DiLaurentis’ death — yes, it seems that she’s really dead — is going to be one of the big mysteries of Season 5: “It’s a lot of things, actually,” Marlene said of the way Mrs. DiLaurentis’ death factors into the upcoming season. “Who would she have been protecting? Who would want to bury her? Who wanted her dead?” All question we’ve been asking ourselves (and the Interweb), so we’re glad to see Season 5 will be addressing them.

But, with Mrs. D. gone, where does that leave Alison, who will be trying to reintegrate into Rosewood in the upcoming season? Well, according to Marlene, Ali will be staying with the other DiLaurentis parental: her father. We know very little about the DiLaurentis patriarch, so it will be interesting to see their relationship play out. According to Marlene, their early Season 5 dynamic will begin with a question: “Her father comes home and wants to take her with him,” said Marlene, “and she has to explore this idea: Do I really want to stay here? Should I make a clean break? That’s all part of her journey.”

Let’s just hope part of her journey is also flashbacks to a time when her mother is alive. We can’t be the only ones who are sad that we may never see the bitterly complex character on our screens again?

Are you sad Mrs. DiLaurentis is gone for good? Do you think she will be in flashbacks? Do you think Ali should leave Rosewood with her father? Sound off in the comments below!
