As much as we love Katherine Pierce on The Vampire Diaries, we couldn’t help but want to yell at her for her treatment of daughter Nadia (Olga Fonda) in last night’s ep (Season 5, Episode 10: “Fifty Shades of Grayson”) — or, you know, ever. We know Katherine is going through a lot, what with the dying and all, but she needs to step up her game because she could be an awesome parent. Diatribe aside, Nadia was on her way out of town when Katherine collapsed in the episode’s closing scene. With her mama knocking on death’s door, will Nadia be sticking around Mystic Falls much longer?
It sounds like Nadia will be around for quite some time, given this tweet from Zach Roerig (Matt Donovan) following last night’s episode: “Hope y'all enjoyed tonight!! On set right now with @McQueeninchains, @TheOlgaFonda and of course our rad talented crew!” If Olga Fonda is still on set, that means Nadia will still be in Mystic Falls well into Season 5. Wowza! We thought she would clear out — especially if Katherine dies (as we’re afraid she might) in the 100th episode. Does this mean Katherine might survive for more mother/bonding time? Or, perhaps, Katherine uses Nadia’s body — willingly or unwillingly — as a possession point once her body fails her? Kind of a dismal mother, remember?
It is curious that Nadia and Matt have more scenes together. Perhaps, Nadia sticks around not for Katherine, but for Matt? There were some serious sparks between these two when they bonded over having terrible parents in last night’s ep. We’d like to think Nadia has actual feelings for Mystic Falls’ token human, but we’re a little worried that she’s using him again. After all, she’s done it once before. If not, though, it would be nice to see Matt find a little romance. For being one of the sweetest characters on the show, he doesn’t get a lot of dates. And have you seen those puppy dog eyes? Seriously, dating population of Mystic Falls: What is wrong with you?
Are you glad to hear that Nadia will be sticking around Mystic Falls for awhile? Do you think she might start something with Matt? Sound off in the comments below!
