Game of Thrones Season 5 Spoilers: Spain Confirmed as Filming Location!

Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) is gone for good (no, we're still not over it), but we can expect to meet more of his countrymen when Game of Thrones heads to Dorne in Season 5. We already knew Westeros' most independent kingdom would be making an appearance next year, and now we have confirmation Game of Thrones will film in Spain next year. Put two and two together, and we feel pretty confident that we know where Dorne will be filmed.

The news Game of Thrones will definitely film in Spain comes from none other than the U.S. ambassador to Spain, who just so happens to be the former Vice President of HBO. Cadena SER (via HBO Watch) reports at least one of the filming locations will be The Alcázar of Seville, a Moorish-built castle. Check out a pic of the location above; as you can see, it's totally gorgeous.

Since George R.R. Martin himself has said Dorne was inspired by Moorish Spain, it seems pretty safe to say that this location — and probably most if not all Spanish locations used in filming — will serve as the backdrop for the Dornish drama that's headed our way next year.

Want to know more about what might happen in the new location? We've got a book-based spoiler rundown here.
