According to Zap2it, the #FatalFinale brought in a whopping 2.3 million viewers and earned a 1.0 in the key 18-49 demo, helping it top Tuesday night’s cable chart. In addition to the awesome ratings, the #RIPMona hashtag helped the episode become the second most-tweeted telecast of the summer — only getting beat out by the PLL Season 5 premiere.
Just how much did #RIPMona work for the show, you ask? A grand total of 339K tweets including the hashtag were generated on Tuesday, with 200K of those sent between 9 and 10 p.m. alone. This was a major win for PLL social-wise. Too bad it meant Mona had to get taken out by the hoodie-wearing villain!
But just because we had to say goodbye to Mona doesn’t mean we won’t get to see her again! Janel has already confirmed that she’ll be back in flashbacks and told Wetpaint Entertainment that Mona left behind clues for the Liars. Even from beyond the grave Mona is still very much a presence in Rosewood — and we couldn’t be happier.
