Game of Thrones Season 5: When Does It Come Back?

Update 1/8: HBO announced that Game of Thrones Season 5 will premiere on April 12, 2015 at it's usual 9 p.m. ET time.

Well that's it, folks. We've made it through the end of Game of Thrones's brutal, bloody, vengeance-filled Season 4, and now we face the long hard wait until Season 5. But how long a wait will it be, exactly?

We don't have an official premiere date for Season 5, but we think it's pretty safe to say that it will be hitting our small screen around the end of March or beginning of April, 2015. That's when Game of Thrones has aired for the past four seasons, and HBO tends not to mess with its schedule too much.

For reference, Season 1 premiered on April 17, 2011, so it's possible that we'll actually have to wait until mid-April. However, Season 2 premiered April 1, Season 3 March 31, and Season 4 April 6, so early April seems like the safest bet.

Seems like a long time from now, right? Sigh. On the upside, the season starts filming this summer, so casting news and set photos should start rolling out fairly soon. That will help ease the pain of the wait a little, right?

In fact, there's already some interesting news about Season 5 out there. For instance, did you know they might add Spain as a filming location? Oh, and both Michiel Huisman (Daario) and Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) have been promoted to series regulars. Plus, there are some interesting rumors about new characters...
