The Vampire Diaries Season 6 — Michael Malarkey Gets Promoted to Series Regular
Rejoice, Enzo fans! Michael Malarkey is officially returning to The Vampire Diaries for Season 6. And that’s not all: he’s getting upgraded to series regular! And we couldn’t be happier.
Julie Plec has confirmed the news to EW.com. “We have not seen the last of the delicious Michael Malarkey,” she said. “He’s a wonderful addition to the team, and he will be officially a series regular next year.”
The last we saw of Enzo, the snarky vamp had just been brought back from the Other Side to the land of the living, and he seemed pretty happy to see Caroline (aka “Blondie”). As for where Enzo goes from here, we imagine that he’s going to hang around Mystic Falls for a bit. After all, if there’s a way Damon could be alive, Enzo would probably want to help — even if he says otherwise. Despite Damon’s betrayal, we imagine Enzo still cares about his former best friend.
As for Damon’s other bro, Alaric, who is also returning for Season 6, there’s going to be tension between him and Enzo. “I anticipate them not liking each other very much,” Julie told EW.com. Jealousy, perhaps? Let’s just rename The Vampire Diaries to Everybody Loves Damon.
