When we think of Glee, NeNe Leakes isn’t the first actress who comes to mind, but like or not the Real Housewives of Atlanta star has a history with the FOX show, having first appeared in Season 3 as synchronized swimming-turned Cheerios coach Roz Washington. NeNe’s popped in and out over the years, appearing sporadically in both seasons 4 and 5 as well, and now the 46-year-old grandmother is hoping she’ll continue the tradition into Glee’s sixth and final season as well.
NeNe, who previously had a big role on Ryan Murphy’s now-canceled sitcom, The New Normal, told E! News about her wishes to return to the FOX dramedy that furthered her acting career in many ways. “I hope I'm back for Glee's final season as well," the RHoA star revealed. "We've been talking back and forth, I'm hoping to be back. I've done it for three seasons. I'm happy to go there, I love the cast, I love Ryan Murphy, I'm happy to go back,” she concluded.
Ryan previously said that every cast member (past or present) who wanted to come back for the show’s sixth and final season was welcome to do so, so since it’s clear that NeNe is more than game let’s hope Ryan sticks to his word.
As of now, NeNe is reportedly slated to return for RHoA Season 7, but she’s been ambivalent about the reality gig for quite some time and we have a feeling she’d ditch Bravo and the other H’wives in a hot second if she was offered a full-time job on a scripted show.
Would you like to see NeNe return to Glee Season 6, or did you have other guest stars in mind instead? Sound off below!
Glee Season 6 is expected to debut in 2015.
