Glee Season 6 Premiere Date Revealed — Find Out When to Watch!

Hasn’t it felt like forever since the Glee Season 5 finale first aired? Given that last season ended in May and the show didn’t come back in the fall as it has in years past, we have been waiting awfully long for details on the highly-anticipated final season. Sure we’ve gotten plot details about the farewell season here and there — rivalries! proposals! — but even some of the basic details such as when Season 6 premieres have been kept from us. Until now, that is. So when does Glee’s final season formally kick off? Read on for the important info!

According to TVLine Season 6 is slated to begin on January 9 at 8 p.m. ET with a two-hour premiere. Do you know what that means? After a wait that felt like an eternity we’ll have more Glee in our lives in less than two months. Rejoice, gleeks!

Based on what we know about the farewell season thus far, the core group — Blaine (Darren Criss), Sam (Chord Overstreet), Artie (Kevin McHale), Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer) — find themselves back in good old Lima, Ohio. Rachel (with help from Kurt) is expected to attempt to revive the New Directions, while Blaine will head over to his old stomping grounds at Dalton Academy and lead the Warblers. Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) is expected totake the helm of Vocal Adrenaline.

Others, like Santana (Naya Rivera) and Brittany (Heather Morris) will pop in from time to time as well. In fact, it looks like those crazy gals will take a major step in their relationship and get engaged before we say goodbye for good. Here’s hoping we also get to see a lavish wedding for Britana on the island of Lesbos!

And although the final season might be a bit bumpier for Klaine thanks to Karofsky’s surprise return, we have it on good authority that things will end on a high note for them as well.

What’s more? Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz), Mercedes (Amber Riley), Kitty (Becca Tobin), Sue (Jane Lynch), Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron), Puck (Mark Salling), Coach Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones), and more are all expected to be seen in Season 6, too.
