If you’ve begun to think that American Idol is over-the-top happy this season, just wait until you watch the preview for season 6 of The Voice. To say the judges seem pumped is a huge understatement.
The preview shows Adam Levine gleefully pressing his button, while Shakira is more hands-on, giving several (lucky!) singers a hug. Usher, of course, pulls out a few, slick dance moves. But, as Zap2it points out, it’s Blake Shelton that lays it on perhaps a tad too thick when trying to convince a singer to join Team Blake.
"You know those fireworks that go off and spell stuff? They said, 'Team Blake'!" he gushes to one contestant after a blind audition.
At one point, Shakira tells a singer, “I wanna take you to the top,” while Usher tells another, “I wanna win with you.” But Blake’s comments almost seem a bit excessive in comparison, making everyone wonder if he’s going to try extra hard this season to make a comeback. We know that his fellow judges called him “lazy” and “complacent” last season, so we could see a whole different side to Blake when the show premieres on Monday, February 24.
The only girl shown performing sang Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball”, but if the other singers are at the level of this girl, Season 6 is going to be killer. Both Shakira and Blake lunged at their buttons, and we can’t wait to see who this fortunate up-and-comer picks.
What do you think — do Blake’s intense comments smack of desperation? Let us know what you think in the comments!
