Castle Season 6 Production Shuts Down Over Dispute With Nathan Fillion — Report
Production for Season 6 of Castle just kicked off on July 9, but it looks like things have not started off smoothly on the set of the hit show. According to Deadline, production was forced to shut down last Friday, July 12, after the show’s star, Nathan Fillion, (Richard Castle) refused to report to work.
The site reports that the disagreement between Nathan and the show’s producers stems from the fact that the lead actor wants a four-day workweek. “It looks like the absence was his way of sending a message,” Deadline notes.
Yet it doesn’t appear that the show is in any danger, because production has reportedly resumed once again: “ABC reps say the show continues to shoot this week, and Fillion is on set.”
We love us some Nathan, but we’re not really feeling his divo behavior (assuming its true) — shutting down production for even one day is unfair to everyone who works on the show — but we’re glad both sides were able to work through their differences.
Hopefully Nathan got that four-day workweek he so desperately wants! Tell us your thoughts and feelings on this surprising development in the comments below.
