True Blood Season 6 Speculation: Will Sarah Newlin Die — Or Is She Gone For Good?

True Blood is notoriously unpredictable, and last night’s penultimate episode (Season 6, Episode 9: “Life Matters”) was no exception. Surprisingly, there was only one major death — though plenty of gory human carnage left in the Eric & Co.’s  trail through Vamp Camp — and the most shocking moment was someone not dying.

After Steve Newlin exploded in the sun (while screaming, “I love you, Jason Stackhouse!”), Sarah fled from her spot on the roof, hoping to escape more than half a dozen angry vampires who can day-walk and her scorned ex-lover Jason. However, she couldn’t outrun him in heels, and found herself with a gun cocked at her throat as she begged for mercy. Though he could have taken her out with one shot, Jason decided he didn’t want to get more blood on his hands and let her speed off into the distance.

Given that if she steps one foot in Bon Temps, she’ll either be arrested, killed, or both, we have a feeling that is the last we’ll see of Sarah. On the other hand, she’s one crazy vamp-hater who recently slammed a woman’s head into a grate and then killed her with a stiletto, so we could be wrong. Since she’s still determined to carry out “God’s work,” she could even sacrifice herself in the name of the cause — though considering she begged for her life with Jason, that’s unlikely.

If she does decide to come back — perhaps armed with real weapons — we’re sure Eric will sniff her out, kill her in some gruesome way, and then hang her out in the open to show exactly what happens when you try to wage a war against vampires.

What do you think, Truebies? Will Sarah Newlin come back? And if so, could she escape death again? Sound off below.

Catch the True Blood Season 6 finale on Sunday, August 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
