We don’t know where the incredibly talented Rachel (Lea Michele) will be during Glee Season 6 since series co-creator Ryan Murphy has said the FOX dramedy’s last season will take place in an entirely new location, but we are aware that several familiar faces are set to return to the show for its final run.
Ryan has said anyone who wants to come back for Glee’s sixth season is welcome to do so, and he even hinted that he would love to have kooky April Rhodes (Kristin Chenoweth) back in the fray. We’re betting that many of the original “kids” will make some sort of emotional homecoming, but what about that whole slew of secondary and even tertiary characters like Rachel’s dads?
LeRoy and Hiram Berry are played by Brian Stokes Mitchell and Jeff Goldblum respectively, but thus far we have only seen papas Berry in a handful of episodes. In fact, neither of Rachel’s dads even made it out to New York City to watch their only child slay it as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl. How rude!
However, we’re willing to overlook LeRoy and Hiram’s absence because Ryan has stated that the proud dads will be back for Season 6. Last month Ryan took part in a live Twitter Q&A and one curious fan asked if Rachel’s dads would return. The astute fan also remarked that the Berry clan could “probably use a family singalong” after everything that’s happened.
Ryan didn’t address the possibility of a singalong (which we totally support by the way) but he did confirm LeRoy and Hiram’s return with a simple “Yes.” Family reunion, anyone?!
Are you happy that we’ll be seeing more of Rachel’s loving fathers in the future? Tell us your thoughts and feelings below!
Glee Season 5 airs Tuesday nights on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.
