Though we haven’t seen the college co-ed’s reaction to the big new just yet, Entertainment Weeklywarns that her input is on its way, noting that we “will see her reaction in certain behavioral ways.”
But even if Alexis isn’t as eager about the engagement as we are, EW also previews that there is some serious family bonding time ahead — including Beckett. As can be expected, the blended family will come together over a case. This specific investigation centers on Alexis and her fight to free a man on death row.
“We have an interesting episode where Alexis has been involved in an Innocence Project-type case with her professor that has not gone well and last-ditch efforts have not exculpated the guy. So with 72 hours left, she ends up recruiting her father to help,” Andrew Marlowe explains. “It’s a really moving episode that allows Castle and his daughter — along with Beckett helping — to them to spend a lot of time together and also talk about what it means to be a family. That’s something we’re really excited about.”
Did anyone else just get a bit teary? Because we did…
