Grey's Anatomy Season 9, Episode 23: "Readiness Is All" ended with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) shockingly cheating on Callie (Sara Ramirez), and the fallout in the Season 9 finale came swiftly. And it. Was. Huge. Did they break up?
While it's not clear exactly where Callie and Arizona stand, things are certainly not looking good. It's not just because Arizona cheated — we have a feeling that they could have recovered from that under different circumstances — it was all of the feelings that cheating dredged up. Feelings that came spilling out in a massive, devastating fight.
"I thought we were past the hard stuff. I thought we were finally good. We have a child. How could you do this?" Callie shouted at Arizona after figuring out what happened between her and Lauren. That answer? They weren't as "finally good" as they appeared.
See, Arizona still has a lot of anger over the plane crash. Over the fact that Callie tries to act like she is a part of it when she wasn't there ("I lost Mark and you almost died," Callie protested. "You weren't on the freakin’ plane!" Arizona shouted back. Because it's not the same). Over the fact that, yes, Callie was the one who declared Arizona's leg should be cut off.
"You didn’t lose anything — I did," Arizona declared near the end of the fight.
"Apparently I lost you," Callie replied, defeated.
Whoa. Do you think that's true, or is there a way Callie and Arizona can work their way back to a good place after all the pain and anger that's built up and been unleashed? It's hard to see how they can recover, but we want to believe it's possible.
What did you think of this fight? Can they recover? Are you angry at Shonda? Vent all of your feelings in the comments.
