Bachelorette 2014: Second Season 10 Premiere Date Announced — When and Why?
If you were to walk into our office (or bedrooms) right now, you’d see a giant calendar with May 19 circled in rose-colored marker. Why? Because that’s when Andi Dorfman’s Season 10 premieres! But today, ABC released a little press goodie full of intel about the Bachelorette’s next run, and they have another date on it: May 22.
So, what’s the haps? Are they pushing back our dreams three days for some reason other than to torture us? Nope, have faith, friendo, because nothing’s actually changing. While the press release mentions Thursday, May 22, as a premiere date, the real one is still Monday night (OAD = Original Air Date). Let’s all take a breath and discuss.
As fans know, the show always airs on Mondays from 8-10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. However, there were a lot of moving parts to consider this season. It seems that since they want to make sure to get Bachelor in Paradise on and running later this summer, the week afterThe Bachelorette finale, they tried to pack Andi’s premiere in a week early. BUT because Mondays are also home to fellow ABC hit Dancing With the Stars, our girl A.Dorf ended up with a really awkward premiere date time: 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET/PT.
Obviously, that’s not an ideal timeslot when you want to get bedtime-having fans in front of the couch, so ABC has added a second premiere night. We’re guessing they’ll round up some alumni and fans to tweet along, or give some incentive to tune in and boost ratings to get the season off strong. But rest assured: Whether you choose to tune in on Monday, May 19, at 9:30 for the first taste, or later in the week, we’ve got you covered with all the Season 10 premiere coverage you can handle.
