Seinfeld Actor John Pinette Found Dead in Hotel Room at Age 50
Very sad news has emerged from the comedy world today as stand-up comedian and Seinfeld actor John Pinette was found dead in his hotel room at the age of 50.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that John died on April 6 in his room at the Sheraton Hotel in Pittsburgh. John's doctor reportedly signed off on his cause of death, so an autopsy has not been performed.
Foul play is not suspected, but John had been suffering from liver and heart disease. He underwent rehab treatment for a pill addiction in August 2013.
John was a successful comedian who was set to perform a string of shows at the Ontario Improv Comedy Club later this week in Calif. He frequently poked fun of his weight in his comedy routines.
John had a number of TV and film roles, including playing the carjacking victim whom the four main characters mock in the Seinfeld series finale. He has also appeared in such films as Junior and The Punisher and TV shows like ALF.
Our thoughts are with John's family and loved ones during this very difficult time.
