Selena Gomez has made her Instagram account private, just one week after she was named the most followed person on the site for the second year running.
The 25-year-old shocked fans this week by the move, which came shortly after she posted a cryptic comment regarding her recent Billboard Magazine interview.
Other than the comment, the singer — who is believed to have rekindled her relationship with her on/off boyfriend Justin Bieber — gave her followers no reason for her decision to go private.
That didn't stop them speculating however.
She screenshotted a part of the interview that referred to a five-foot teddy bear sitting in her home:
"I know, I know," says Gomez, rolling her eyes, acknowledging that the stuffed animal doesn't quite blend with the trio of armchairs nestled in the inviting, marble-accented nook.

"It was a gift, and at first I thought, ‘This is so ridiculous, I can’t wait until I give it away to another person.’”
The excerpt concluded with, "But Gomez, 25, hasn't let go of it — yet."
Selena wrote over the screenshot in her Instagram story, saying, "Never will I let another human guess my words ever again.
"Or invite them in my home. That is so hurtful."
It concluded, "The most 'ridiculous' part of that is no one knowing my heart when I say things."
It is stll not clear what about that part upset the singer so much.
The move comes just one week after the "Bad Liar" hitmaker was named as the most followed person on Instagram for the second year running, with more than 130 million accounts showing an interest in what the blonde beauty has to say.
It was also recently announced that Selena holds five of the 10 most liked photos on the site for 2017, including her announcement that she had undergone a kidney transplant, and a snap of her with her now ex-boyfriend The Weeknd.
These images will still be accessible to the 130 million people who follow the star, but any new fans will have to wait until she either accepts their follow requests, or makes her account visible to all once again.
Why do you think the star made her account private?
