Selena Gomez’s Mom Told Her Not to Work With Woody Allen

UPDATE (1/16/18 at 2:23 p.m. ET):

Selena Gomez’s mom is not holding back when it comes to speaking out against her daughter’s recent decisions.

Following the news Mandy Teefey doesn’t approve of Sel’s relationship with Justin Bieber, it sounds like she also warned her not to do her recent Woody Allen film, A Rainy Day in New York.

Dylan Farrow’s sexual assault allegations against her director father have resurfaced and fans believe the 25-year-old should apologize for being in his film.

One person even commented on Mandy’s Instagram photo, “Make Selena write an apology about the Woody Allen film.”

Needless to say, Mandy quickly responded with her own thoughts on the situation.

“Sorry, no one can make Selena do anything she doesn’t want to. I had a long talk with her about not working with him and it didn’t click,” she confessed.

“Her team are amazing people. There is no fall person here. No one controls her. She makes all her own decisions. No matter how hard you try to advise. It falls on deaf ears.”

Sorry, Justin Bieber!

We all know Selena Gomez is back with the Biebs, but it sounds like her mother really isn’t happy about it.

In fact, Mandy Teefey is opening up about her daughter’s rekindled relationship with the “Sorry” hitmaker.

The mother of two told Gossip Cop she’s “not happy” about the 25-year-old’s romance.

Though the “Come and Get It” songstress and the 23-year-old broke up a few years ago after a long-term relationship, they started dating again just a couple of months ago.

However, despite not approving of her daughter’s relationship, Mandy understands Sel is an adult and can make her own decisions.

"Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe, and healthy,” she continued.

After undergoing a kidney transplant in 2017, Mandy is focused on keeping Selena healthy.

"She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed,” she continued.

"Selena is an adult and can make her own choices."

Though the former Disney star and her mother have always been close, they’ve gone through their fair share of ups and downs.

"Selena has always said that the one person that means the most to her is her mom, Mandy," a source told E! News.

"But still, they've had a really complicated relationship and have gone through a lot of ups and downs."

And, though Selena’s family may not agree with her current relationship, Justin’s family is all in.

"They want him to date someone and think she is very sweet and a good girl," another source shared.

"They are happy with how Justin is doing and his focus. They support him going to church often and having his faith being such a big part of his life."

The source continued, "They think that being back together with Selena is a positive thing. He wants to do things differently and make it right and show everyone how far he has come."
