Seth Meyers to Replace Jimmy Fallon on Late Night!

Seth Meyers will be replacing Jimmy Fallon on Late Night!

Seth, head writer for Saturday Night Live and host of the Weekend Update segment, will become the 4th host of the 12:30 NBC show when Jimmy replaces Jay Leno on The Tonight Show.

Lorne Michaels, executive producer of
SNL and others, has been named the new executive producer for Late Night, too! Seth joked, “I only have to work for Lorne for five more years before I pay him back for the time I totalled his car.”

He added, “12:30 has long been incredible real estate. I hope I can do it justice.”

No word yet on whether
Late Night will get a format change with the new host, but Seth would like to mix things up with his improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy backgrounds, maybe “a two-shot with talented and funny people.”

Ryan Seacrest had a positive reaction to the news, asking Seth to bring his
SNL “Really!?!” segment along.

Since the show’s inception in 1982, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy and now Seth have been the only hosts of the
Late Night show.
