After months of Justin Bieber-bashing, Seth Rogen has finally elicited a response from the controversial pop star.
Here's Justin's May 8 tweet, edited for spelling and clarity: "Seth Rogen, sorry I didn't bow down when I asked to meet you. [I] was probably a bit shy and didn't want to be over the top, but still. Love your movies."
It's hard to tell whether Justin is being sincere or sarcastic in the apology — but it does sound like he's trying to right past wrongs and make peace with the Neighbors funnyman.
Seth first aired his distaste in the wake of the Biebs' January arrest. "All jokes aside, Justin Bieber is a piece of s—t," Seth tweeted.
He said the same thing on a March episode of Watch What Happens Live, adding, "He's ungrateful and obnoxious and [insincere] — and he puts people's lives in danger."
Fast-forward to May 5 when Seth elaborated on the matter during a stop by The Howard Stern Show (per ABC News): "I met him a few times. He's a good example of someone who you meet, who you think you're going to hate, and then you get to hate him … You meet him and he lives up to every one of your expectations."
As Seth related to Howard, his first bad impression of Justin occurred when they were guests on an episode of a German talk show years ago and Justin asked to meet Seth, before seeming "nonplussed" and disinterested during their conversation.
And a subsequent run-in at an MTV award show only cemented Seth's animosity toward the Believe singer: "I talked to him for like five minutes. No humility, no awareness, no sense that, 'I appeal to young, young people. Maybe a grown man who works in comedy doesn't f—king give a sh—t about me. Maybe I should act in such a way that perhaps this isn't the great experience of his f—king life."
We're not sure Seth is likely to become a Belieber, but perhaps the two stars can bury the hatchet?
