The most recent episode of The Shahs of Sunset, which aired on Dec. 3, was a relatively lighthearted one as far as Lilly Ghalichi was concerned. The self-proclaimed ‘Persian Barbie’ hit a local fabric shop with a few co-workers in search of material for their booming bikini business. Fun, right? Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like the rest of the season is going to be as carefree.

In fact, in an exclusive interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, Lilly opens up about her ongoing feud with co-star Merecedes “MJ” Javid and how it’s affected her friendships with the rest of the cast. She also talks about why this third season of Shahs is her most emotional one yet.

Wetpaint Entertainment: MJ’s mantra about you this season is that these are her friends, not yours – that you’re an opportunist trying to insert yourself into their lives. What’s your response to that?

I think that MJ is just intimated by me. She’s alaready attempted to break me down in so many ways – this is her last resort. And it’s so elementary school of her. ‘These are my friends not yours?’ It’s so childish.

But when she said it, no one else at the table – not one of your fellow cast members – corrected her. How did that feel?

The silence, that was hurtful. It was offensive. If the tables had been turned, I would have spoken up for any of them. Yes, they are her friends. She’s known them her whole life and I’ve only known them for a year, but it was such a childish statement. Someone should have spoken up.

How will it affect your relationships with them for the rest of the season?

Well, I’m really hurt. You already saw that but you’ll see it again. You think everyone at the table is your friend and then no one says anything. What they did was offensive – anyone would be turned off. So you’re going to see that play out.

Would you say it’s a painful season for you?

It’s definitely a very emotional season. It’s also a very disappointing season for me. I had expectations from this group of people and it turns out I was completely wrong. To know a group of adults can act so childish…. But outside of them, I have a good season. My work and personal lives are great. Everything outside of them is really, really fun.
