There's nothing sadder than a Hollywood breakup, especially when there's kids involved.

And the latest duo to call it quits is Shakira and Gerard Pique, who have reportedly ended things after six years together.

The couple hasn't been seen together in at least three months, and it seems to be because they split, according to Spanish website Cotilleo (via Hollywood Life).

The site reports there had been speculation for months that the pop star and the soccer player were dunzo, but now a source has allegedly confirmed it.

Shak, 40, was the one to pull the plug on the relationship and she has moved out of the Barcelona home the couple shares with their two sons, Milan, 4, and Sasha, 2.

What's unclear, however, is where the "Whenever, Wherever" singer is staying now.

This is the second time this week alone where two famous parents have broken up.

Wetpaint reported that Tyra Banks and Erik Asla, who share 19-month-old son, York, have also called it quits.

But Shakira and Gerard's split is especially devastating.

Kids aside, that's because the Columbian singer released a song just this past April, titled "Me Enamore," dedicated to the father of her children.

In the tune, she recalls their early days together — she calls him a "kid," since she's ten years older — but fell in love with his "lips" and "beard" anyway.

"With you I would have ten children,” she croons on the Spanish track.

Guess not!

Shakira and her Spanish beau first met in 2010 when Gerard (and other soccer players) starred in the music video for "Waka Waka," Shaq's song that was the official anthem of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

They confirmed their relationship in 2011.

Neither party has confirmed the breakup, but stay tuned to Wetpaint for updates.
