Shay Mitchell, Penn Badgley to Star in a New ‘Gone Girl’ Style Thriller

We'll never ever stop missing Pretty Little Liars, but we have to admit it's exciting to have new projects featuring our favorite Freeform stars to look forward to.

And there's one more to get excited about, because Shay Mitchell has inked a deal with Warner Brothers that includes a series regular role on a new show starring opposite Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley.

Read on for details on the new show — plus the scope of her huge talent deal, which could bring a whole lot more Shay onto your screen.

First off, there is her upcoming role on the forthcoming Lifetime series, You, based on Caroline Kepnes's debut thriller novel, according to Variety.

The critically acclaimed book has drawn comparisons to recent bestsellers-turned-blockbusters like The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl.

Looks like Shay won't be straying too far from her roots! Like her former character, Emily Fields, this new role involves a stalker..

The book has also drawn comparisons to — and praise from — horror legend Stephen King, in particular to Misery.

Though details on the project are thin so far, we expect Penn and Shay, respectively, will portray bookstore owner Joe Goldberg and the object of his obsession, aspiring writer Guinevere Beck.

Joe takes what seems at first the sort of infatuation that starts off like your typical rom com. But then imagine Annie from Sleepless in Seattle is a psychopath instead of a quirky reporter with a crush.

We're stoked for this project, but it sounds like we could have even more to look forward to starring the 30-year-old Toronto native.

That's because Shay's formed her own production company, called Amore & Vita Productions, Inc, which has signed a multi-year pod deal with Warner Brothers, Variety also reports.

As part of the deal, the model-actress and her partner, David Dean Potelli, will develop ideas for new scripted and non-scripted programming for Warner's television, streaming, and digital properties.

We can't help but think this means a travel show starring the queen of wanderlust is on the horizon.

Her YouTube channel is full of videos that will have you checking airfares every day in order to recreate her getaways.

We can also see the self-professed fitness freak getting her sweat on in a healthy lifestyle show.

Look, if she wants to give us the secrets to getting flawless skin and a perfect physique (besides, you know, great genes), we're tuning in.

Whatever new content Shay helps develop, we're looking forward to her return to our screens!

What do you think of Shay's first big post-PLL project?
