Even during hiatus, the stars of Pretty Little Liars can’t seem to stay away from each other!
Keegan Allen (Toby Cavanaugh) has been living in the Big Apple for a few months for his Off Broadway stage debut in Small Engine Repair. Earlier this month, Ashley Benson met up with Keegan while she was in town for “Kisses for the Troops.” Yesterday, Shay Mitchell (Emily Fields) was in town to watch Keegan in the official opening of his play. What did she think?
“So so soooooo good! I could not be more proud of @keeoone for doing an AMAZING job in tonight's performance of #smallenginerepair ! A definite must see!!!” Shay posted on Instagram, along with a photo of herself, Keegan, and a friend after the show. (The best part of this scenario is Keegan’s awesomely intense hair. Think Toby, circa Season 1 — but with a classy twist. We hope he brings that back for PLL Season 5.)
Shay’s trip for the big opening night obviously meant a lot to Keegan. He posted his own picture of the co-stars and friends on Instagram, along with the caption: “Shay came to my opening night for #smallenginerepair- thank you, love you so so so much. Meant the world to see you.” Aww. We love that the PLLers are so supportive of one another. After four seasons of television spent hanging together, we’d imagine a cast either becomes super close-knit or ready to kill one another. We’re glad that PLL seems to fall firmly in the former category.
Shay isn’t the only one who is giving Keegan rave reviews in Small Engine Repair. The New York Times called the production “raw, funny and well-tooled,” and they hailed Keegan’s performance of “smoothly arrogant Chad” as “a precise portrait of 21st-century entitlement, junior class.” The production recently announced that it would be extending its run by a week, until December 15. Basically, all signs point to Keegan being a pretty little success!
Does this PLL support-fest make your heart sing? What do you think of Keegan’s ‘do? Sound off in the comments below!
