Game of Thrones has never been a show to spare our feelings, and on Season 4, Episode 9 ("The Watchers on the Wall"), we had to say goodbye to Ygritte (Rose Leslie). Now who will tell Jon Snow he knows nothing?
This episode took place entirely at the Wall, and focused on Mance's big attack on the Wall. Or at least the first night of said big attack, which turned out to be the last night for Ygritte.
At the beginning of the episode, Ygritte swore that she would kill Jon herself, and she almost got her chance when they came face-to-face in Castle Black. Would she have actually done? We'll never know, because before she could take her shot she was felled by the little boy whose family she killed back when the Wildlings were raiding villages left and right.
She died in Jon's arms, reminiscing about their night in the cave and telling him one last time, "You know nothing, Jon Snow." Sniff.
