When Grey’s Anatomy re-aired the first episode of the show last Thursday, it brought back a lot of memories for a lot of people — the cast and people behind the show included! We learned some neat trivia via Twitter, like the scene that Sandra Oh auditioned for Cristina Yang with. And while the show was on, Shonda Rhimes shared some trivia of her own.

Her favorite scene from the pilot? She revealed that, too: The scene where Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and George (T.R. Knight) are talking about why they’re surgeons, and Meredith admits that her mother never thought she had what it took to be a good surgeon.

“This Mer and George scene was always my favorite from the pilot,” Shonda tweeted. “I LOVE @ellenpompeo doing this monologue about Ellis.”

We can definitely understand why Shonda loves that scene so much. It’s an awesome jumping off point for Meredith and George’s close friendship, and explains a lot about Meredith’s strained relationship with Ellis. Meredith admits she’d much rather have what George has — a supportive family who loves to brag about him.

What’s our favorite scene from the pilot? It’s such a good episode that it’d be impossible to choose!
