Grey’s Anatomy Shonda Rhimes: Five Things You Didn’t Know About Me

Though we feel like we're practically besties with Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes — having spent 10 seasons with her brainchildren now — but she recently revealed five things she thinks we don't know about her on Facebook.

Full disclosure: When we say "recently," we mean "five months ago." Hey, can you blame us for being wrapped up in Japril wedding feels and the rest of the Season 10 drama at the time?

In any case, here are her fun facts — some of which we totally knew, even before January — so check 'em out below and see how many surprise you.

"I was in a championship marching band in high school."

Maybe the experiences inspired the Season 5 episode "I Will Follow You Into the Dark," which featured a marching band girl suffering seizures — and Alex (Justin Chambers) dismissing her fellow instrumentalists as "band nerds."

"I really, really love the National Spelling Bee."

And she has live-blogged the bee every year for the past decade, including the competition last week!

"I believe that dancing it out is a way of life."

...and a way of giving Grey's Anatomy's ultimate power couple the perfect closure, in our humble opinion.

"Deep dish Chicago pizza is the only kind of pizza I believe in."

Listen, we love the deep dish, too — but we don't say no to the shallow variety!

"I've had the same BFF since I was 10 years old."

Plus, she revealed recently that this BFF is the real-world Cristina Yang.

What didn't you know? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Grey's Anatomy Season 11 airs this fall.
