If the Grey's Anatomy cast members looks a bit heavier when Season 11 premieres, it might be the fault of creator Shonda Rhimes!
The 44-year-old Queen of Shondaland gifted the cast of the long-running medical drama with the sweetest medicine we could imagine: oversized syringes stuffed with vanilla cupcakes, with the "11" highlighted on the syringe's milliliter markings.
"Just what the doctor ordered!" Jerrika Hinton (Stephanie Edwards) wrote on Instagram. "Thank you to @shondarhimes for these beautiful @GreysABC themed desserts!"
New cast member Kelly McCreary (Maggie Pierce) also tweeted her gratitude.
Shonda responded on Twitter, writing "Xoxoxoxo!"
Talk about a spoonful of sugar!
Still, these cute baked goods aren't anywhere close to the most extravagant present the veteran showrunner bestowed on her coworkers. A year ago, she celebrated the show's 200th episode by giving everyone on the cast and crew a Royal Caribbean cruise.
"She be hangin' with Oprah too much — she turned it up!" Ellen Pompeo posted at the time.
"But did she announce it like Oprah would?" an Twitter follower asked.
"Oh, yeah," Ellen replied. "She rocked that announcement."
No shade to ABC, but we wouldn't complain if Shonda continued her Oprahfication and created her own TV network!
Grey's Anatomy Season 11 premieres Thursday, September 25, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
