Shonda Rhimes on Grey’s Anatomy’s Longevity: How Long Will It Last?
We've been watching Grey's Anatomy since 2005 and could probably watch it for another eight years. But will we get a chance to? Show creator Shonda Rhimes has weighed in on the matter.
As we've previously reported, the original cast members' contracts expire after Season 10, which means that they'll be free to leave. Seems like a natural ending point to us, especially because Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) just revealed that she's bailing.
Shonda also encourages us to get pumped about the Season 10 debut on Thursday, Sept. 26.
"I'm really excited about all our stories … The two-hour episode premiere is going to be amazing. Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) — it's going to be emotionally, really strong. Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Cristina just broke up. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) just had a baby. And then the overarching story of what's happening with the storm … I think it's important to continually challenge our doctors."
