Shonda Rhimes Shuts Down Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal Writers’ Rooms!
Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal just ended their seasons last month, but it already feels like an eternity since we’ve had episodes of our favorite shows. There’s a long summer ahead, and our wait may feel even longer now that creator Shonda Rhimes has shut down both writers' rooms!
“Scandal Writers Room and Grey’s Writers' Room shut down today for our break,” Shonda tweeted on June 8. “Am excited about what we have planned for Seasons 3 and 10!”
Phew. Of course, it's just a temporary break for the writers to get their creative juices flowing, or at least that is what it sounds like. Everyone needs a moment to relax, and with shows as intense and incredible as Grey’s and Scandal, we’re sure the writers need more than just a day to breathe and prepare for tackling the long season.
What will Shonda be doing during this “break”? She’ll be watching Danish political drama Borgen, of course! “Hiatus means that now I can do what I was born to do: sit around and watch Borgen full time,” she wrote. Sounds about right.
It looks like Shonda will also be tweeting more, even though she claimed she was taking a break from Twitter. We’re fine with her sticking around on social media — especially if she drops more hints about the seasons ahead!
