Miley Cyrus on Sick Leave From Tour: “I Didn’t Have a Drug Overdose” (VIDEO)
Miley Cyrus is back in action on the European leg of her Bangerz tour, but first, she wants to set the record straight: Her leave of absence was nothing other than the allergic reaction she’s been open about all along.
In a press conference held before she took the stage at London’s O2 arena on Tuesday, Miley took the opportunity to clear up any possible rumors that she was actually out of commission because of a drug addiction.
“I didn’t have a drug overdose. I took some sh—tty antibiotics that a doctor gave me from a sinus infection and I had a reaction,” Miley said, according to E! News. “I’m the poster child for good health.”
And, as evidenced in her post-hospital Instagram video, Miley’s ready to unleash the energy she’s kept bottled up all those days she’s been on rest.
“I’m gonna go off. I’m like a star waiting to explode,” Miley told reporters. “There is nothing I would rather not do than lay in a bed for two weeks. It was the most miserable two weeks of my life.”
From the sounds of things, it seems her lucky Bangerz concertgoers got to experience an awesome show — but not before Miley reassured everyone once again that she does not suffer from a drug abuse problem.
“I’m probably the only one on this tour who doesn’t drink or smoke before a show, as I take this really seriously,” Miley said. “It’s almost like being an athlete up here, because if someone was f—ed up, they definitely couldn’t do my show.”
Welcome back to the stage, Miley — we know your return made an arena full of fans very happy last night!
