The Rest of the Crew Brings the Party in Skins Season 1, Episode 1: "Tony"

Sometimes the Skins storylines are so true to life we swear they were ripped from the pages of our angst-ridden diaries. As the MTV show awaits renewal, we want to highlight the real-life teens that continue live the Skins lifestyle in Tony's absence. Straight from the headlines, here is your honorary Skins teen of the week!

This week’s dubious honor belongs to the poor German teen who inadvertantly invited 15,000 Facebook users to her sweet 16 party. With the wonders of social media, it’s only a matter of time before Chris makes this mistake at his next rager.

Excited for upcoming birthday party, a Hamberg teen named Theresa accidentally invited the public to the Facebook event. Unfortunately, more than 15,000 users then accepted her invitation. Theresa smartly alerted the police to her overblown guest list and more than 100 police were on hand to greet the partiers. Thankfully, only 1,600 people showed up at her house.

There were reports of fires, property damage, and excessive boozing at the party. It also seems that 11 people were taken into custody for reasons ranging from bodily harm to violating the local explosives law. But to be fair, German police spokesman Mirko Streiber says that “it was by and large a peaceful party.” All’s well, that ends well!

Thanks to MTV, the mere mention of a sweet 16 conjures up horrific images of tacky over-the-top parties. While Skins’ sister show My Super Sweet 16 is known to feature tricked out Hummers, diamond tiaras, and a special performance by the washed-up Ryan Cabrera (huh?), we don’t think any of these spoiled birthday boys and girls actually went  through the trouble of inviting 15,000 people to their shindig. So you go, Theresa!  We think your party would get the Skins seal of approval.
