Why Blake Shelton Is Slamming Divorce Rumors (VIDEO)
Going to the store has got to be a real chore for The Voicecoach Blake Shelton and his lovely wife, Miranda Lambert. Seems every week there’s a new tabloid story asserting that the country lovebunnies are on the rocks. Though the “God Gave Me You” singer usually either laughs it off or ignores it, Blake recently took some time out on the Today show to address the persistent rumors.
“I’ve never felt a stronger bond,” he tells Carson Daly of his relationship with his wife of nearly three years. “Miranda and I... she’s my life.” As for why Blake’s decided to renege on his previous conviction about ignoring the chatter, he tells E! News, “I felt like you can ignore it all you want or you can say, ‘hey, by the way, that’s not true.’”
What is true, however, is that NBC appears to be in the final stages of locking down Gwen Stefani as the replacement coach for Christina Aguilera when the show returns in the fall for its seventh season. Although nothing is set in stone yet, the network confirms that they’re close to finalizing a deal with the No Doubt singer.
Blake, on the other hand, played it a little more coyly than the network. “If there is such a person in this world named Gwen Stefani, I think she would probably be a great addition to this show.”
Well, hey — if it doesn’t work out, might we suggest that Blake’s own spitfire of a wife would be an awesome runner-up for the position?
