“Tanner’s here again,” Alison imparts to a bleary-looking Spencer in the school hallway. Tanner is already chatting with Aria and Alison thinks Spencer might be next. She worries that Tanner will get one of the Liars to cave, and the entire thing will unravel.
“I’m not caving,” Spencer says resolutely. And we totally believe her. So does Ali, but she’s not so sure about Aria, who has been distant as of late.
“She’s totally icing us out,” Ali complains to Spencer. “Is there something going on between her and Hanna?” Spencer says she doesn’t know, and Hanna claims not to either, but we know the truth: Hanna told Aria that her mom’s fiance Zach gave her his number, and Aria flipped out.
Ali is ignorant of the details of this exchange despite still being a guest in the Marin household. Apparently, she “played down” the events of someone breaking into the house so that her father wouldn’t rush back. Spencer seems judgy, but Ali defends her tactics: “What? It’s not like I feel safe in my bedroom.”
This is about the point at which Spencer has had enough of the conversation. “I need to go to class,” she tells Ali, walking away. “I need to leave early to see the eye doctor.” She kinda, sorta got kicked in the face by a horse last episode, remember?
But Ali’s not going to let Spencer leave without one last aphorism: “Spencer, if one of us falls, we all fall, and ‘A’ wins.” Ominous much?
