Ice Moms? Dance Moms Producers Consider Ice Skating Spin-Off

Could there really be another Abby Lee Miller out there? With all of her drive, volume, and...ice skates?

The producers behind Dance Moms and Dance Moms: Miami are now pitching Ice Moms, which would “revolve around figure skating coaches Laurie Vigilante and Adam Schmidt who often raise the ire of the parents of the students they coach as they push them to become champions.”

One caveat, though: who on earth are those people? The secret sauce in Dance Moms, arguably, is the fiery dance guru Abby Lee Miller. Not only did she open the Abby Lee Dance Company at the age of 14, but she has proven records of advancing students’ careers all the way to Broadway, Tokyo and beyond.

Lifetime exec Rob Sharenow tells The Hollywood Reporter, “We’ll show all the blood, sweat and tears it takes to be a champion on ice."

Well at the very least, there is the potential for using skates as weapons. Maybe that’s where the “blood” part comes from?
