Lindy what, you ask?

This Friday, we’re mixing things up a bit and rewinding to the swingin’ big band era — when the hip guys and dolls flocked to the dance floor to get their lindy hop on!

In this week’s So You Think You Can Dance Face-Off, we want to know which couple you think mastered the flair and technique of this don’t-stop-til-you-drop dance, also known as America’s National Folk Dance.

Season 2 is jivin’ with “Sing, Sing, Sing”

Donyelle Jones and Dancing With the Stars pro Dmitry Chaplin got things rolling in this routine to the classic big band song “Sing, Sing, Sing.” Lindy hop duo Nick Williams and Kristin Sorci choreographed the upbeat number and embodied the infectious fun of the dance style in every step.

This was the lindy hop’s SYTYCD debut and it was an instant hit with the audience and judges. Like true swingin’ eager beavers, Donyelle and Dmitry jumped, whirled, and twirled up a storm — as the swing kids would say, “they cooked with gas!”

Did Donyelle and Dmitry make you want to jump off your couch and take a go at the energetic dance style?

Season 6 gets hoppin’ with “I’ve Got to be a Rug Cutter”

Ellenore Scott and Ryan Di Lello proved they were a pair of ducky shin-crackers (40s slang for good dancers) in this killer Carla Heiney lindy hop to Boilermaker Jazz Band’s “I’ve Got to be a Rug Cutter.”

The two looked downright dapper in their authentic garb and danced their lindy socks off — cutting one serious rug on the SYTYCD stage.

Were Ellenore and Ryan your favorites?
