Season 8 Finalist Mitchell Kelly Teaches Master Classes in Atlanta

Upon the conclusion of the Season 8 tour, Mitchell Kelly returned to his home in the ATL. Now, he’s teaching master classes to the next generation of Atlanta dancers. Earlier this week, he tweeted, “Hey everyone, come out and dance your heart out. Wednesday @6:30 pm at Gotta Dance Atlanta!! You don't want to miss it! FYI; it's going to be hard!”

Mitchell credits GDA for his own training, so it must be a real treat for him to be a part of the faculty. Additionally, SYTYCD Season 9 auditions kick off in the new year; this is an excellent opportunity for Atlanta dancers to brush up on their contemporary skills from an experienced SYTYCD alum before heading to the Fox Theater on January 5, 2012.

Season 2’s Allison Holker Supports a Fellow Dancer

Tuesday night, Season 2 finalist Allison Holker performed in a benefit concert for a fellow Los Angeles break dancer, Steelo Vazquez. Steelo is a member of the dance crew the Groovaloos and is recovering from a ruptured brain aneurysm and three hemorrhages.

Allison wasn’t alone in showing her support for the ill dancer. She tweeted
d, “So inspired tonight by the love and energy the dance industry continues to show towards one another!” A large contingent of the LA dance community attended the event and shared in Allison’s sentiments, including executive producer Nigel Lythgoe.

The event also featured performances by Wayne Brady, the LXD, the Jabbawockeez, and SYTYCD’s Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss. It’s always touching to witness dancers rally together for a good cause!
