SYTYCD Face-Off: Best Travis Wall Contemporary Routine
Travis Wall takes us on an emotional journey every time he choreographs on FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance. For this SYTYCD face-off, we’re comparing two of his most expressive and captivating contemporary routines.
Season 7: “Collide”
Through dance, Travis told us the story of a teenage couple on their prom night. Featuring Season 7 finalists Kent Boyd and Lauren Froderman, Travis’s routine to Howie Day’s “Collide” was touching and portrayed a sense of innocence. Kent and Lauren are totally believable in their characters and dance with finesse and conviction.
So beautiful!
Season 8: “Turn to Stone”
Travis Wall’s imagination is at its best in this routine to Ingrid Michaelson’s “Turn to Stone.” Season 8 winner Melanie Moore and fellow Top 4 dancer Marko Germar are stone sculptures come to life. Travis uses moments of subtlety and stillness to heighten the emotional context of the routine and Melanie and Marko execute it brilliantly!
Truly inspiring!
