So You Think You Can Dance guest judge Adam Shankman is rumored to be returning to his career as a big-screen director. Variety reports that Adam, who has directed hugely successful flicks such as The Wedding Planner and Hairspray, “is in early negotiations” to direct a Warner Brothers film adaptation titled This is Where I Leave You.

Along with his producer sister Jennifer Gibgot, Adam will also take on a producer role via the siblings’ appropriately named production company Offspring Entertainment.

The movie is a screen adaptation of Jonathan Tropper’s 2009 novel of the same name, which tells the story of a father’s request to his family that after he passes away, his “highly dysfunctional and non-religious family” observe Shivah for 7 days. Warner Bros has been working on the film for three years already.

Could this be another box office hit for Adam?
