Fresh off the set of Rock of Ages, So You Think You Can Dance judge Adam Shankman is already thinking about his next big project — according to Deadline, Adam has been “tapped to direct” the pilot for NBC’s newest comedy.

This won’t be Adam’s first gig at directing a television show; recently, he called the shots for episodes of Glee and Modern Family. Not bad creds to have!

Currently untitled, the new comedy comes from the quirky and funny mind of writer and producer Hilary Winston — whose words have been transformed from the page to the small screen on Community and My Name is Earl.

The pilot for Adam’s new show will follow Agnes, a quiet, professional woman, as she is dumped by her fiance and recovers from her faltered plans to wed. Agnes turns to her co-workers for support — allowing her to open up and find cohorts in her quest for marital vengeance.

NBC has attached other notable names to the comedy, including Mena Suvari and Kyle Howard in supporting roles — the lead has yet to be cast.

Well, Adam certainly isn’t wasting any time in his resume-building! Congrats to him on another fab directing gig!
