Tabitha and Napoleon D'umo Celebrate Their First Emmy Win

Busy power couple Tabitha and Napoleon D’Umo of So You Think You Can Dance (and X Factor...and Mobbed...and American Idol, the list could go on) recently announced that they were expecting their first child.

In an exclusive interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, the D’Umo duo talk about how they plan to balance the baby with their many show commitments and their reaction to the news that FOX was canceling the Results Show for SYTYCD.

Wetpaint Entertainment: So you did Mobbed and X Factor and now you're doing Idol, and then you're going to do So You Think You Can Dance. When are you going to have time for this baby?

Tabitha: I think right after So You Think You Can Dance, we'll get to take a good break.

Napoleon: Unless we get picked up by Mobbed again, and then we're back on that.

Tabitha: We'll figure it out.  I'm not worried. We've been married for quite some time. We've always talked about having a family down the road, and now the road is here. And you just figure it out. With our job, I feel like it's almost easier in the sense that I can be on set and have an assistant with me and still be there and have my input.

Napoleon: Quite a few of our friends [have kids]. They say the traveling is hard, but since we’re in town, that takes one thing away. So that's good.

Tabitha: I think Napoleon will have to take the front seat for a little while, while I'm at home getting acclimated to things. And we can take a little bit of a break.

Napoleon: The good thing is that we're a team.

We learned earlier this week that the SYTYCD Results Show has been axed. Does that affect you guys in any way?

Napoleon: No. I saw a post on that. I'm not exactly sure how it's going to play out, but I don't think it affects us at all though. We're rarely at the results shows, unless we do a group number. But I think it's not a bad idea. It would make more viewers tune in to that one particular show.

Are you guys involved at all in the audition phase?

Tabitha: Sometimes we are. It depends on our schedule. They start auditions quite some time ahead of schedule. So sometimes we're wrapped up in other project, and it's hard.

Napoleon: This month and February is a hard time for us. This month, we have the Super Bowl half time, and next month, we start off back on Idol.
