American Idol 2014 Song Spoilers: What Are the Top 10 Singing?

After making our selections for what the Top 11 should sing during American Idol Movie Week, we have to admit, we were pretty proud of how accurate we were! (In case you missed it, we totally called Alex Preston singing “Falling Slowly” from Once; and while we didn’t get the song right, Malaya Watson did still sing a number from Dreamgirls.)

It’s starting to look like we’ll be a little bit more surprised this week, however, as the contestants will be singing songs from the last four years alone. Taking the stage on Wednesday, March 19, the remaining 10 contenders will be choosing from any song featured on the Billboard Top 10 from 2010 to the present.

While we’re excited to see some of the contestants take on more contemporary songs, it could prove to be a troubling week... especially for the guys. While the girls have primarily stuck with modern-day tunes, someone like retro-inspired Caleb Johnson could have a hard time. (Then again, we didn’t expect his rendition of “Skyfall” to be spectacular, but it was.)

Of course, this is American Idol, and the winner of the show will be expected to produce contemporary songs for a youthful audience. That said, there’s no better category than this one to prove that they’ve got what it takes should they win the crown.

Dying to know what songs the Top 10 finalists will be singing come Wednesday? Check out the list below, courtesy of The Idol Pad. (We’ll add updates as soon as we get more information.) You’re guaranteed to be surprised!
