Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner Cast Opposite Huge Star in New Movie
For anyone who hasn’t noticed, the stars of HBO’s Game of Thronesare kind of taking over Hollywood. From Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) and Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell) grabbing roles in huge franchises like X-Men and The Hunger Games, to Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) doing rom-coms, and Kit Harington (Jon Snow) scoring parts in every swashbuckling period piece being produced, it seems like the silver screen is just bursting at the seams with Westerosi talent. Well, get used to it, because Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) has got herself a prime role opposite screen legend Ray Liotta in the upcoming film, Alone.
According to Deadline, the new film centers on Liotta’s character, “a loose cannon vet battling PTSD who attacks people for no reason — until he meets and falls for a rebellious New York City high school student.” If you guessed that Sophie portrays the high school student, you are correct. Hmm, a role where Sophie gets to be young and naive while creepy older men try to seduce her? Sounds like Game of Thrones prepared her well for this part!
Surprisingly, the film is not directed by Woody Allen, but rather by Matthew Coppola. No release date as of yet, but filming is scheduled to begin in the new year in New York.
