Game of Thrones fans will recognize Sophie Turner from her role as the most naive girl in Westeros, Sansa Stark, on HBO’s hit fantasy series, but Sophie will soon be popping up on movie screens, too.
Sophie has just joined the cast of Barely Lethal, Deadline reports. The action-comedy film is set to be directed by Kyle Newman, and the script was written by John D’Arco. The film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, of True Grit fame, as a teenage assassin who fakes her own death and enrolls in high school in order to become a normal kid. In addition to Sophie and Hailee, Samuel L. Jackson and Jessica Alba round out the cast.
The film is scheduled to open sometime next year, and is the second movie role for Turner, who plays the lead in Isabel Coixet’s upcoming thriller Another Me.
Sophie’s not the only GoT star to hit the silver screen after rising to fame of the show. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) appeared in big budget releases Oblivion and Mama earlier this year, Kit Harington (Jon Snow) has upcoming roles in the fantasy epic, Seventh Son and the sword and sandals flick Pompeii, and Lena Heady (Cersei Lannister) will appear in the 300 sequel, 300: Rise of an Empire.
Soon, all of Hollywood will be conquered by inhabitants of Westeros, and that’s just fine with us!
