Soldiers can carried loaded weapons, but Soulja's? No such luck.
TMZ reports that Los Angeles police arrested Soulja Boy this morning, January 22, after finding that he was carrying a loaded gun.
Apparently Soulja — whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way — was a passenger in a car that ran a stop sign in the San Fernando Valley early this morning. When the cops pulled the vehicle over, that's when they discovered the 23-year-old rapper was packing heat. They arrested him and took him to a local jail.
It's not DeAndre's first arrest — he was charged with obstruction in October 2009 after fleeing when cops interrupted his video shoot in an abandoned Atlanta house.
Two years later, in October 2011, Soulja was arrested during a traffic stop in Carroll County, Georgia, when the police officer found five ounces of marijuana in the vehicle.
In brighter news, fans are still eagerly anticipating his fourth studio album, which has gone under the working title Promise, then USA DRE, then Life After Fame. Time will tell if his forthcoming work will match the platinum-rated success of his first album, Souljaboytellem.com.
So, uh, Mr. Boy, may we suggest you stop getting into trouble and start to "Crank That" music out already!
