Sound off! Did Finn Deserve to Get Slapped by Santana in Glee Season 3, Episode 6?
There was a lot of poo-flinging in last night’s pre-Thanksgiving break episode of Glee, “Mash Off.” And while a lot of it made us laugh out loud, Finn (Cory Monteith)’s outing of Santana (Naya Rivera) in the hallways of an always-buzzing high school was definitely a low blow. Some might argue, however, that Santana’s incessant bullying of her former flame came back to bite her in her un-J.Lo ass (Finn’s words, not ours).
Besides, he had no clue that that heated exchange would go far beyond the walls of McKinley and onto a smear campaign against Sue (Jane Lynch). But alas, the damage was done, resulting in a heartbreaking scene where Santana gets the bad news from the uncharacteristically-apologetic Cheerios coach, followed by a big post-Adele mashup SLAP for Finn.
We must admit, we didn’t see the slap coming, and although Finn had no place nudging Santana out of the closet, is he totally to blame for the shove that came later? Or is Santana’s insensitivity and sharp tongue equally to blame?
