Chris Harrison Receives Special Honor — for Grilling Juan Pablo Galavis?

Juan Pablo Galavis is probably not the world’s biggest Chris Harrison fan, particularly after their heated convo at the Bachelor Season 18 finale last month. However, plenty of other people admire the way Chris put El Bachelor in his place, and now Chris is getting well-deserved props.

With the 2013-14 television season coming to a close in a few short weeks, TV Guide has named its favorite TV stars of the year, calling them the “Season MVPs.” Chris Harrison made the list, earning praise from the mag for calling Juan Pablo out. “It was refreshing to see the cheerful (and sometimes cheesy) Harrison shed his TV persona [in the finale] and admit that the outcome isn't always perfect,” TV Guide writes.

We definitely think that Chris deserves this recognition, since he has proven over the years that he is uniquely gifted at making the show’s stars feel at ease while still pushing them to give genuine responses. And while Chris was proud to make the list, he didn’t seem to agree with a certain adjective. “I'm honored [but] ‘cheesy’?” he quips on Twitter, to which the mag responds, “Ha, the lines not you.” Nice save.

Chris is not the only Wetpaint Entertainment fave to make TV Guide’s cut. Also gracing the list are Downton Abbey stars Jim Carter and Phyllis Logan, The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev, and Glee gals Lea Michele and Naya Rivera. Congrats, Chris! And yes, we’re pretty sure this is the most dramatic TV Guide list ever.

Are you surprised that Chris made the list? Or do you think he deserved it?
